With the old shocks Frankenfoot sat nose high...So I had some bottom load RC10 buggy shocks lying around and rebuilt them and put them on...The shocks are a night and day difference compared to the junk stockers but it still has the nose high attitude...Did the Blackfoot come from the factory nose high or is there something weird going on ????

One thing is you got no shock collar on the rear shock to make it rise up in the rear !! don

Looks to me like those shocks have very little travel. I'm seeing only about a centimeter of shaft, front and rear. Height notwithstanding, that's not good at all for a monster truck. With suspension fully extended/uncompressed, with those shocks you'd probably want to see an inch or more of shock shaft. If your shafts CAN extend further but aren't, you need either more spring tension or stiffer springs, to force the shocks to fully decompress when at rest.

My blackfoots sit slightly nose high as well, but adding the rear shock collar will help you a little bit.

  I had to run after I put them on and forgot the pre load spacers....I have like a thousand different pre load spacers so I decided not to use the collars...Pre load spacers for the quick pull adjustment ability....Frankenfoot will be on road only because I don't want to bust up parts....I took it out and ran another pack thru it and it handled so much better with these shocks....

Mine usually sit level at rest, but nose-high when running. The rear end squats down as soon as you hit the gas, and unless you have really light springs and damping, the front suspension doesn't move much at all.

I just compared the spacers with the thickness of the shock collars and used ones that are slightly thicker...I put 40 weight Losi oil in them and it helped...But...It still sits with a nose high attitude...I will eventually get around to replacing all the nuts and bolts and screws so maybe then I will find out what is going on...For now I have to dial the brakes out of it because when I let go of the trigger it locks the rear up and spins it out :? :)

coelacanth is right. wrong shock body size... too long, not enough travel...

should look more like this (although still not perfect)

that won't fix your nose high issue though... cut a couple of spires of the spring and you'll be better, although with a stiffer spring ;)

you should definitely be using 1.02 shocks.

I have rc10t shocks on my Blackfoot.. Used to have Kyosho Golds but the short shocks were too short so i swapped to the ae parts.. inexpensive for me to do and work great.. my rake is pretty level but I have shorter body mounts on mine to bring the shell down because I like the look.. I also have the front and rear JG shock mounts on my BF.. Looks like a fun BF to work on.. :D

Shawn

edit:forgot to say that they are rc10 T front shocks all around.. S
