HI!... I picked up this original Hotshot off Ebay about a week ago. Got it for a good price. Got lots of extras with it as well. Enough to build about 85-90% of a 2ND Hotshot. lol! It's missing a few things like front bumper, window netting etc. I've already got a NIB set of wheels for it. This one will be restored and be another shelf queen.

Well my new re-po body from TBG showed up today. :y: Also got a set of vintage original HOTSHOT decals. Just waiting for a bunch of parts to show up so I can start this restoration.

Well I started to work on this on the weekend. It's really messed up. Anyway here is as far as I have got so far.

Well I got some more work done. I still need to find a NIP mechanism box due to the two I have are massively scratched up. Just found out too, the the MSC aluminum mounting plate is missing. Previous owner just had the servo taped to the box. The actual MSC was flopping around when they were running the car.

Well the NIP front suspension arms finally showed up. :y:

Well I got the front gear box put together. I polished the aluminum axles and the aluminum shock body/swaybar/mounts. Just painted the driver on the chassis and waiting for it to dry before I go any further.

Well I got a bunch more done on the HotShot. Still need to paint the body and apply the vintage decals. And get some NIP tires.

That looks really nice. I see you put the white box art wheels. Any thoughts of upswing the optional gold ones? They look really nice with the red body and you can pick them up cheap on eBay. They used to cost $50-80 plus before the super shot rere

I've always kind of wanted one of these - whats the difference between the Hot Shot and the Super Shot? From what I can see it looks like the suspension is different. Are the ball diffs on these just as impossible to find as on the SRB's?

HI!... I have 4 versions of this chassis type. Hotshot, Hotshot (re-re), Supershot, and Hotshot II. They are all pretty close to being the same. Different bodies, suspension set-ups. Subtle differences.

So can you 'upgrade' a Hot Shot to Super Shot suspesion? I'm guessing Super Shot is the ultimate version?

HI!... Yes. All three use the same lower radio box, and front/rear gearboxes. Supershot was the best out of the 3.

HI!... O.k I finally got to work on the Hotshot tonight. Had to wait for a new receiver box to show up. The original was all cracked around the screw holes due to previous owners over tightening the screws. Got all the electronics installed, including a new MSC. New bumper is installed. This one is now 100% complete.

Looks perfect. Nice touch fitting the MSC on this shelfer. I'm always so quick to change out the wheels that I forgot how cool the OG white ones look on this model.
