losing e-clips from front hinge pins

I have a T3 which always pops off the two e-clips from the front inner hinge pins (the two e-clips (Left and Right side) at the rear of the front inner hinge pins). Both front arms move freely, no binding, nothing bent, broken, or cracked.

Any advice on why the e-clips keep popping off???

They are almost the very first thing the ground touches when landing hard and moving forward, not only are they low but they are angled to a point in which it is even easier to catch anything below them.

You could try using a bit of shoe goo to keep them there, another option is picking up snap ring fitted external retaining clips.

Expanding on the retaining ring idea, you can also use 1/8 "C" clips, they are much smaller in outer diameter and you can use them on the end that keeps popping off. They are much harder to remove so don't do both sides.

Both styles are available from McMaster Carr.

On my 10T, the RPM front skid plate did the trick, but I don't know what option is available for the T3. If you have room, a thin washer that is larger than the e-clip should take the brunt of the impact, but if your e-clips are loose they could still be pried off I suppose.

I like this idea, thanks! 8)
