Vale's RC10 Team Car

Hi guys,

I want to introduce you my latest acquisition: an RC10 Team Car

I ordered a RC10 Re-release but I know exactly that car won't be the same as the good old rc10 tubs. So I decided to look for an old rc10 and one day after this decision I found this one in germany.

It will be a shelfer, so first I have to dissasemble and clean it. I have to put some money in it because it needs some parts like the body set, wing tubes, wing mount, battery cup, rear tires and maybe an new rear bulkhead because the previous owner used self tapered screws

The chassis is generally in a good shapes. It's dirty and of course it has some scratches but looks like it has been raced rarely.

Good news:

- Tires are not glued! The front tires and rims looks like new. The rear rims looking great, just have to replace the used tires.
- Got some parts with it: another uncut battery cup, rpm rear and front arms (nip), rpm rear hub carriers (nip), carbon parts (battery strap, front and rear shock towers), screw set, nose tubes,...
- original owners manual
- world buggy bell cranks installed

Something is weird with that car: it's a B chassis, with early gear cover, early spur gear cover and early ball cups but has later produced front shock towers and brace. After disassembling it, I will check other details like shock pistons, shock bushings,...

Looks clean, great find! Are you going to keep the carbon parts and after market steering, or return it all to stock before displaying on the shelf?

Good question...I don't know :) the carbon parts look great but do not "harmonize" with the overall chassis (in my opinion) but gives a race look.... What do you mean??

Cheers

I'm always curious to see if people prefer to display their cars as they were sold, or if they prefer to display their cars with 'hop up' parts available at the time the car was being sold.

Either way, looks like you got a great car!

Haha

In fact I disassembled the entire car. Then I cleaned EVERY single part, the chassis as well. The parts are looking good now :)

Tomorrow I will start building the car, step by step, as described in the manual :)

Next step :) ...

I have to repeat that the car is in a really great condition. The only parts I have to replace is the felt gasket, the rear tires and some screws! Of course some parts were missing like wing mounts or antenna mount. But those are all cheap parts and it's not a problem to find them. Generally I think that it was a good deal.

Today I will rebuild the shocks. Then the car should be almost finished. Now I'm waiting for some parts like complete steering set, wing tubes, nose tubes, battery strap, felt gasket and wing mounts.

In near future I will order the body set + wing. I allready have a design in mind 8)

Hey Rob, thank you :) Yes, it's very clean! I think it proves that this car was rarely ran.

Looking forward to finish it...it's already my favorite baby in my collection :)

Nothing...but they have some scratches lol (you can't see them on the photo). I hate scratches :) I found new tubes for little money, so I will use them :)

Next update!

I cleaned and rebuild the shocks. Also installed the tires: Pro-25 on the front and Pro-80 on the rear.

I decided to use nylon nuts to fix the shocks because I don't like the alloy ones on this place, to keep save the alloy shock caps. Also preferred to install alloy nuts to fix the wheels because the nylon ones are easily over-tighten.
