Yep, gather the lynch mob. I plan on racing it. Early parts and all. Brushless as well. Once JConcepts releases the Rips/DDs for the vintage crowd, I will get a full set onto original 5 spoke Losi wheels to race with. For now, it will have B4 wheels.

Most of the smaller 4-40 holes were barely counter sunk at all (I re-sunk all the ones I will be using). Antenna hole wasn't counter sunk at all!

I will copy you a Parma bellcrank brace, that floppy servo saver won't last a lap

The rigid ones are better than the brace, especially if clm has the bearing versions

I have a whole white aftermarket set or what I would most easily get rid of a single servo horn side losi one. I don't have the idler arm for that set unfortunately, however the bell crank side probably gets the most benefits from the bearings anyways.

Edit: Actually my nxt has another set of the white aftermarket ones so I am not attached to either really!

Joey, I don't think the JC tires are going to work on OG Losi rims. The JC tires are 1.7 rear, 1.9 front. Those Losi's are 2.0 rear, 2.1front no?

I'll standby and watch, if you can get the 1.7s on 2.0s, then maybe I can get the 1.7s on some 1.9 rear Ultima rims.

I used to pull 2.0s onto 2.2s all the time, 1.5s onto 1.7s as well. 1.7 to 2.0 is a +3, so I am hoping my past experience with +2 leads to this being okay.

And the compounds just keep getting softer and softer, so your plan is probably totally feasible. Cannot wait ot see your 5link x2 tearing up some track. Get some action shots PLEASE...

What are you planning for esc and motor? 9 turn? 120 amp? 3s lipos ? Make a high powered beast man.

I been contemplating stepping up from my 17 turn.

Probably 17.5 blinky (if I want to be daring, a 13.5), this will be my stock class killer, especially if we get a true vintage class going, gotta beat up on some re-re's .

For crazy, I still have my 5 link pro chassis with XX retro tranny. That one loves a 10.5 motor.

More pics as I put some slightly incorrect shocks (hard anno'd), need to find my other lunsford turnbuckle for the steering, they arent on there, I only found one yesterday I need to space up the battery box, it is a touch short on the lipo. Dont want to put too much stress on those molded hinges, they will snap if you give them a dirty look.

I have the 80% andy's body behind it in the first pic to use for now, but will need to get a true X2 body for this one.

Yea on my Lipo I attacked the lipo itself grinding away at it's outer shell casing just enough so it would fit snug into our plastics for the rear bulk head. Theres a lot before you actually reach the batterys themselves.
But I run the other more swingy batt latch up front...this one here seems a tighter fit. I think it's the original. In fact Ill trade you the swing version for that one if you want. As it would go period correct with my future queen resto. Dont grind that one...it wont last the plastic hinges just brake anyway. Im starting to remember now why I don't have the door on mine. i hate possible early alzheimers.
Yup the body for this one is a little smaller...the original X2 is more compact and i think even shorter than it's later brethrens.

You got a link for your 10.5 build? Not sure if I seen that one...I saw one where u ran a very small 380 series brushless.

Battery life on a 17.5 blink is unreal...something like 40 minutes maybe more.

This is a pretty nice score bro....right down to tire wear and the mechanical speed controller. I want to see your build ...but it's got resto screaming too.

Are those Losi shocks....those were definitely not on my original.

Actually that's a esc, just looks like a mechanical cause of the round heatsink.
