Got these 4 motors, labels are clean, but the clear coat has 1-2 small "clear coat only" rubs, and misc dirtyness all around. i know how to "rebuild" a motor and own stock/mod lathes.. is there a good way to restore the label?

i was going to lightly sand and lightly polish the case.. then rebuild the endbells and comm, maybe replace bushings/bearings if they are bad.. and my stumbling block is the label.. anyone ever try it?

It's called "patina"... You may do more harm than good trying to improve the labels. :| You could use battery cell shrink, maybe. :?:

patina i like that.. and understand it.. clean a old coin and it becomes worth, but the original patina makes it valuable.. Not sure if applies to RC car motors or cars haha. i talked to a guy that has a gerber EDGE FX Printer, and he says he can make new ones that will look identical cause the edge printer can use metallic foils and silver labels to print. They are just for shelfers and want them to look new. really dont wanna go this route, but i think this is no different than putting in new brushes or re-anodizing a part. maybe it is now that i think about it.. who knows lol
