Does any on know if the Marui Galaxy chassis was made from ABS or was it a different plastic?

That's actually a great idea! I remember seeing a recipe to make your own home-made acrylic cement by melting chunks of acrylic in acetone...that's the same kind of idea.

Kind of on topic, be sure not to put acetone anywhere near your Hunter/Galaxy wheels, they'll melt. (I had some drab old silver paint on the Galaxy I restored for my brother, and used a dab of acetone to remove the paint. Well, the paint came off real easy...and then some of the wheel surface, too.)

Thanks for the info guys. Since the chassis is ABS I am going to do a solvent bond. I will most likely use something like tenax 7R or ambroid proweld. Both of them are MEK based as I understand. These are straight up cracks so no filling is required.
