Mid with a touch of Andy´s

About 5 years ago, I got a set of Andy´s rear arms on an Optima - Thought they were the meanest arms I´ve ever seen, including the ones on Schwarzenegger.
A cold and windy day in 2012 I found the matching fronts - from that day and on, my life hasn´t been anything but shear joy and happiness.

Front rims are cutdown rears.
Shocks are threaded Equalizers (Service information for gomachv, who´s obviously not getting younger  )
Turnbuckles are Yokomo - on a sidenote, those will not surrender to the hacksaw. I don´t know what they´re made of, think they´re to heavy to be Ti, but still hard as H...

Looks great! I have a pair of rear Andy's arms myself but can't find new fronts, though I do have Andy's knuckles, I couldn't make out what the knuckle arms on yours are.

Many thanks -
Yes it´s the ot-16vb (Very Bad)? plastics as gomachv says.
I don´t know if they ever came on a stock Optima or Mid, or it was just made for the touring cars.
EvolutionRevolution would know that?

I´ve got a set of Andy´s knuckles but they been "optimized" with an extra hole for enhanced steering.

The stinger mkII's came with them on the late models so I'm sure it's possible they came on some late optima mids as well

Those knuckles seemed to be included in some of the partially built kits like celica gt4 and possibly lazer alfa or lazer 2000. I ended up with a couple sets but the metal ones appear to be more common. First time I tried to install the king pins in one, I managed to strip it! By the way, those andys arms look great!

Basically all on-road cars, as far as I know. The Lazer Alpha, Mantis, and Pureten Alphas use a slightly different design. Some gas powered cars came with reinforced versions with thicker plastic.

About 4½ years later -
Painted a body and applied some stickers/decals

with such a technical paint job, no wonder it takes so long

Looking good - the yellow accent matches the rims very well!

And I thought *I* needed a long time to finish a build... :P

Nice end-result, Dennis!
