I just got my shock towers and some other goodies from Rc Carbon Works. Do I need to seal the edges with CA like a lot of the older style carbon stuff?

Must say though, their stuff looks great! Very nice product.

Its up to you. It is still the same type of material so the ca will seal it.

Not to side track a thread but how closely does the weave and resin from carbon works/fiberlyte match original AE parts?

I am not sure as I do not have any AE carbon fiber parts to compare to.

Why do you need to seal it at all? Is it just to help keep it together longer?

It is to keep it from de-laminating. Or peeling apart the layers. I just got an email back from Dan from Rc Carbon Works and he said to seal them.

Which AE parts are you asking about? In the AE Worlds shock towers, for example, there is no visible weave, so the match is not good at all.

I'm thinking more along the lines of the B3 and later carbon. Early carbon was hard to tell apart from fiberglass.

He didn't mention that to me however I didn't ask. If he said to do so I'll seal my set sometime over the winter months.

They're all different from one another. Despite that small detail, I'm happy with the RCCW set I have on my Graphite

Yeah carbon fiber can even vary from batch to batch from the same manufacturer. So it is hard to compare.

Anyone know roughly how long it takes for them to get shock towers back in stock? I went to order some towers and they are out of the one I want

E-mail him. The site might not reflect how much he has on hand.

Interesting, website shows no stock on the rear tower, I sent an email asking when they'll be back in stock with no response. I ordered both towers that I wanted from ebay and it comes up as rccarbonworks in my statement,

huh?

I've bought several things from them. They are all really nice. As a tip, I'd buy everything only in 3mm thick which he calls the racers version. The standard thickness is just too thin in my opinion.
