So, most of my cars are old and slow. Even my old touring race cars are not as fast as I thought they were. A few years ago, my 2 speed opt mid based celica gt4 with a mild mod and stick pack was the fastest rc on the block! Enter the end of 2013, and a 7 year old has been buggy.... I just got a bj4we in rtr condition, with an LRP 7.5 brushless set up, and some kind of old used lipo,,, and its THE FASTEST CAR IN THE WORLD!! Oh wow! Snap Diggity! Acceleration and top speed both eclipse any previous race car I had ever owned, by a long ways. I think its even faster then my previous fastest ever race car, an HPI super nitro with ofna force .17,, and that thing was fast by any standard. By my bench racing estimate, I'd say its doin at least 50-55 mph, but that top end combined with the blistering acceleration is whats totally amazing. Not sure what the previous owner had used it for, but with current set up, its way too fast for local tracks. Ill get pics soon.

Lots of bj pics on the 'net, but I keep getting popups and spyware when I view 'em.

Over here a 7.5T motor is pretty standard for racing in 2wd, 4wd usually run a 5.5T or 6.5T, a 7.5T in 4wd is considered fairly tame. We do have higher grip multi surface tracks, but it's not as if they are large tracks.

They´re not stopping for coffee - makes my dizzy

It nearly looks like the video is run at 2x recording speed, except for the voice of the caller! Those buggies are really bookin around the track! I stopped racing before brushless was main stream, so these kinds of speed are new to me. I just remember trying to gear a 4wd mod buggy, using good matched cells, and good motor and esc,, and never could we achieve acceleration AND speed like that while making a 6 minute run. Its a pretty big track in the video, nice long back strait.

This makes me want more. Apparently these new fangled brushless and lipo combinations are the way to go. Funny, I jumped on the bandwagon years ago for rc air craft, but my rickety old cars lamented in old technology. Weve only gone brushless on 2 cars here, and lipo on just 1 of those. I'll try to get video of my fastest ever rc car,, got to get pics first. I got it off ebay for a song,, rtr with high dollar equipment and spares,, and batteries.. just needed my rx. Figured for the price it was good for parts for my other bj4we that isnt built yet.

Great race! Those guys must have nerves of steel. No way I could keep my composure at that speed in a race that close. Simply awesome.

All I did was switch to ec3 connectors, instal rx, charge batts and run it! Quite a bit less than 200 bucks. Also A pile of new parts, and another lipo...
