I saw this car at a dealer near me, just beautiful. I thought that Pontiac was done, but sharing a Camaro platform, I guess sooner, or later it was going to happen

Love it! I think they should build it - won't be a big seller but would do wonders for the image of GM I think.

As for a Smokey and the Bandit remake - I dunno. Part of me thinks it would be great but on the other hand, I just don't think there are any actors out there would could pull off the Burt Reynolds swagger. Plus with all the modern cars, aren't things like CB radios kind of pointless if there's GPS Navigation and cell phones?

George Clooney!, and Burt as Sheriff Buford T. Justice

Jason Statham could pull off the role.

All right we've got the cast ( still need a leading lady ) the car, now it's up to Hollywood, I love the original movies, I just hope they (if ever) don't screw it up like the A-Team, and soooo many other potentially good movie's that went south.

Exactly. Pontiac died the year after my '08 Torrent was built. I guess it's like all the "rumors" about Chrysler resurrecting the Barracuda, most likely ain't gonna happen because Plymouth also is done.

That's what I thought, but there's one at a GM dealer near me. Whatever the case maybe, it's a killer car!

I didn't know about this. Very Cool Car! Have you seen the recent episode of "Fast & Loud"? They Rebuild a Trans Am and do a spoof on Smoky and the Bandit.

I did actually see that. It was a nice car to start with, but I question the level of professionalism in their shop. They do appear to produce some nice cars....gas monkeys.

Like jason stated, they are just conversions but still cool looking. Would love to own one and would like to see GM put a real bird back on the market but doubt it will happen. I'm a die hard second gen fan so to me the birds died little by little after '77 production. Third gens are nice also. Bring back a '87 GTA ,tune port, 5 speed, digital dash, t-top car and I would be happy also.
