Pretty neat.
Instead of the screwed on blocks, how about gluing scraps of fiberglass to both sides. Two small pieces at either end on one side, and one larger piece at the back end on the other side. Then when you want to position the battery forward or back you just have to flip over the battery brace.

Thats an idea, as long as both cap heads have holes in them. Imo I don't think thin catches would keep the battery in. There is a bit of flex to the system and hard hits may not keep it from sliding front to back. Might work, but the battery is the major thing (Newton would argue) that is going to keep going if the car changes it's "direction" drastically

looks like the battery brace i have to make for my rory cull replica. just a little bit longer in the back though.
