I much prefer universals to CVDs.

losi had a much bigger ball on the bone end. does the 22 carry that over or did they move to a smaller ball? looks pretty large to me.

Drive cup wise they are like AE now, no more gigantic ends-
The "universal" on this is way hefty though, more like a 1/8 scale buggy...but it's funny to me that the CVD/CVA was designed to eliminate the backlash that the Universals developed

Yes that is an interesting step back in technology. A single cardan joint speeds up and slows down 4 times per revolution when at an angle other than flat, and the speed varies with the deflection.
Going off very old memories from 1:1 race mags in the 80's there tho lol

Back when I first built my TLR 22, here was the stock ball end in a 6 gear
And to make things worse (or better?), the rear hub carrier fits with no mods onto stock arms (well stock sized)
