Vintage Losi BBT Sprint Car build (Times Two)

So after rebuilding a few vintage Klein Sprint Cars, a good friend had a project for me. He surprised me with a BBT Losi JRX Sprint Car that he was not going to have time to rebuild, so he passed it onto me. After looking the car over I knew that I was going to need a second JRX car/chassis and repair the nerf bars or find new ones, but as luck would have it I found a ebay listing that was listed wrong and it was exactly what I needed, a second BBT Losi JRX Sprint Car! So what I plan to do is take the best of both cars and make a sweet shelf queen and then with the remaining parts I plan to build a runner.

This will be my first “True” vintage build and I look forward to doing it, sorry for the large amount of photos but I like to provide as many reference shots as possible for others to use (and for me to look back at).

Thanks for looking,
Josh

OK, so far I have both cars torn down and the parts cleans/ready for the rebuild on the first one (shelf queen).

Everything is in perfect condition besides a crack in the battery cradle and mismatched steering arm. Does anyone know if RPM made losi JRX specific steerimg arm or is this a Associated one?

Ok, so I was able to track down the RPM steering arm from a forum member (thanks!). Now I just have to track down a new hood and then rebuild/clean the nose wing. Otherwise the shelf queen is done until the weather gets a bit warmer here in MN so I can lay down some paint on it. I am thinking about doing a Sammy Swindell Old Milwaukee scheme on it.

This is the best of both cars put together plus a few Ebay/Rc10talk goodies that I came across.

Going to take a break and finish another Klein Sprinter before I rebuild the other JRX-2 from the remaining parts as a runner.

Enjoy.

That cleaned up nice!

Any idea if that steering and swaybar setup are one-off pieces?

Thanks, Yeah it took a lot of cleaning and polish but it got shiny! Plus the chassis was the new one that I had to measure twice and cut ONCE! I might have been sweating a little on that one.

•I think the sway-bar setup is either a one-off or modified one. The reason I say that is because it is a little rough but the actual lip that the bar sets within is a perfect cut, so I am leaning towards modified part.

•Steering setup I would say the same, it looks like the same arm for both sides but they cut down the left side (They could have cut both down but not sure why they didn't). Pretty smooth setup and it saves me a lot of space between the battery and servo.

Nothing wrong with pictures. I often just check the threads for pics. I think we have another guy to bug TBG into re popping the TMS gambler body! Hint hint
