That always looked kinda fun to me but I can't seem to drive normally let alone try to drift an rc car . It would be kinda like the first drift race in tokyo drift where he totals that poor car

That was some technical driving! I started watching some more of those videos and what they can do with such little space is amazing! So cool!

Drifting is a ton of fun. Its been the main consumer of my rc time lately.

Are there any other drifters here?

I have a TC5R with a mild countersteer setup and steering mods. Spool in the back but haven't got the front one way yet. I want to increase my countersteer, but I'm having a hard time finding the right pulleys. I found one setup that was supposed to be really good, but it uses hpi pulleys that are NLA. I don't have any good pics right now, but I will snap some and post them later.

cool stuff thanks 4 posting.. what do you guys think are the best drift cars? i have all tamiyas, tl01 and ta03 are great(sad i sold the ta03 but parts were hard to get in usa and the car was real worn) .my tt01 kinda sucks at drifting i was wondering if the tt02 was any better.

Have you tried playing with the rear diff? From what I have seen, and my limited experience, a locked or very tight rear diff is a must. The more steering angle you can get the better. I am not that familiar with the Tamiyas, but I would think one of them could be turned into a decent drifter.

Other than that, I don't have any personal experience with the purpose built drift cars, but so far I think the TC5R chassis is working great.

My buddy just bought the exceed drift star brushed car. I am really impressed with the quality and value of the car, it's a pretty decent setup for $130 shipped, but it isn't really a purpous built drift chassis, just a tc3 style tc chassis with drift wheels. It's going to take some tweaking to bring out the full potential, but I would recommend it if you just want to start off with something cheap.

Here's my TC5R drifter. Factory Team TC5R chassis, Acer ds1050 servo, Turnigy X-car 65 amp sensored esc, Trackstar 10.5 sensored motor, Nanotech 5.8 2s. Drift mods are, mods to the steering arms for more angle, 18/20 countersteer setup using a modified hpi pulley, homemade belt tensioner, kit spool in the rear, 6° front hubs, and drift tires with 6mm (I think) offset wheels. Front one way coming soon. The body is from a Wal-Mart rc, and I have a full function led kit to install, just need to build some light buckets.

Yes, it will have high beam/low beam headlights, taillights, and brake lights. The kit I got also has turn signals and reverse lights, but I'm not sure if I want to use them.

that just makes you wonder how your turn signals would work. post pics of the finished product
