So I need to make a bit of Christmas money so I am finally pulling my finger out and unpacking all my stuff. Last night after work I got out my Dog Fighter collection...

Image

In this pic from top left going clockwise;

-Wonder Dog Fighter (earmarked to become a belt drive if I could just find a 3mm by 450-453mm belt)
-RPS Slotted graphite chassis
-Hot Trick Conversion (just missing the rear wing)
-Delta chassis (alloy hand made parts in the box)
-Custom GRP chassis
-Original Dog Fighter
-RPS SE

Not pictured are boxes and boxes of spares to go with these and I am going to start building this weekend, my first free weekend in ages!

Used shell collection from left to right!

-Unknown
-White and black Wonder Dog Fighter bodies
-RPS SE feather weight body

Image

New uncut shell collection from top left clockwise

-Dahm's RPS SE body
-Parma Unser body
-Reproduction Dog Fighter body

To give you an idea of the scale of the cleaning and restoration problem I am undertaking...this sink is full to the brim in wheels soaking to get rid of the dirt, then I will soak them in acetone to remove the glue, then I'll have as reconditioned wheels and tires.

Image

I am half heartedly after a front set of these Proline wheels (thin or fat I am not bothered but must be new or as new) if any one has any too;

So yeah, this weekend I am going to experiment with dying the custom GRP chassis black as it has red dye partially all over it.

Hi,

I'm sorry if that's confusing, I have moved house recently and in unpacking all my RC stuff to find the bits I have to sell, I got out my whole Yokomo collection which is currently not for sale. Sorry.

Cheers

I took some pictures before xmas of the start of my restoration process.

I first laid out all the parts and then selected the worst parts I had (cracked tranny and steering hubs, holes drilled in everything, destroyed shell, etc) and made myself a runner!

I am pretty happy how it has turned out though. You can see for example I managed to remove the red paint covering most of the chassis, which is an RPS SE chassis as shown in the manual, and is different to the kit's production versions!

Unfortunately I still haven't run this one yet as the electronics have decided to stop working?!!??! :roll:
