No real tips . I just do the soap and water thing for dirt . The sticky residue I use WD-40. Haven't tried to polish one . CA on the edges and worn areas will help.

Clean well with soap and water if it is a chassis that you can feel the woven material like the one in my restored rc10 graphite thread wet sand with 1000 then 1500 and hand buff with some kind of white 1500 grit rubbing compound... Worked well for me... If it is a chassis that is completly smooth and is resin on the outside similar to carbon fiber... Like the one in my woun thread Get some crasy glue in the triangular bottle kind of a meduim thickness stuff wash and clean with alcohol fill any gouges scratches you might want gone remember the glue will when it dries so use enough to fill the gouge but dont use too much as this is all the more you will need to sand off when dry i used a flat file and filed all the edges to where they were kind of roundish and glued all the edges also... Start with 600 in a hard sanding block with water with a small amount of dish soap and start sanding untill you can no longer feel the glue and its smooth then move up in grit till 2000/2500 be carefull when using the corser paper to not sand theought the resin you just want to sand the excess glue away... Then smooth out scratxhes with the finer grit once you have wet sanded untill you are happy with the finish you can hand buff or use a cotton buffing wheel on a slow grinder with a white jewlers rouge see my woin thread for how mine turned out and feel free to pm for any more help

I have already repaired and renewed my chassis this way

you will need:

woven graphite mat and resin/hardener
600 wet and dry sand paper and a good flat sanding block
clear lacquer spray paint

on the damaged area put down two layers of cloth and resin and wait for it to harden, then use the wet and dry and sand the area flat then sand the whole chassis.

now spray a light coat of the lacquer and let dry, as long as there is no runs, they plate should be like new, if not better.

For deep scratches, I like to apply a layer of resin over the entire surface with a rubber squeegee. The. Once that dry sand it down as has been described in the above posts and polish.
