Got this one in the mail Yesterday.
Race ready it said in the ad - Just buy a new battery and You´re good to go.
Got it for half the asking price - when I saw that front bulkhead, I felt good about my hagling
He should have used a bumper - The WIDE one.
The front tower intrigued me though - any ideas to what it is - looks PK corally?

Thanks for clarifying the front shock tower.
Yes, this buggy is a mess of DIY work - It came with a new set of arms for all four corners, though.
I´m not sure this one will be refurbished, the chassis is not fantastic either.

Am I seeing 2 home made arms in back, and an optima (mid) arm in front?

Yes it certainly needs a lot of love - but the only thing I can think of is a lullaby
The under cowl reminds me of an eighties comercial for preservatives
The aluminum arms will come up for sale in the BST - these are a real catch
The weird front arm is a shortened works arm.

The front right shock looks a little cockeyed. Bent shock shaft?
I have a total of four 870's in my possession (excluding two parts cars). Every single one of them was in some way botched by the previous owner. Even the "minty" ones...not much reading of manuals. Or checking of left vs. right parts. Or leaving the chassis/tower plates and bulkheads alone and not hacking them to hell.
Point being, every 870 took a dive off the ugly tree. It's up to you to unretardify it

Yes, molested shocks too - this one go it all.
I´m not going to bin it

but the chassis is damaged at the front, so this one will be used for parts.
