Stopped by there since passing through to see my kids.And get this shocking news that their closing for good and turning the indoor track and hobby shop into a freaking machine shop for rebuilding car motors.There wasnt much in the store part unless into the newer pancars.

Rosewood shouldn't be a surprise, it was a prime East Coast Snowbirds practice track...and thats about it. Chad keeping Thunder Alley alive however is a surprise!

NC racers are really odd, since they are driving 3 hours in a different direction EVERY weekend to race...they love "travel" racing, and very few tracks are open more than once a month as a result (retarded). No support, no consistency, no tracks...no joke.

Hobby store in Northgate mall in Durham is in the back beside the appliance section of Sears.The track is indoors and huge,mostly touring crowd though unless enuff show up for other types of classes.Its carpet and been exspanded to almost half the size the store.Have a big slot car track there too.And a young kids offroad carpet track too.Don

Sad to hear about "the wood". I went by there one time, and it seemed like it had a good crowd and strong following.. at this point I've pretty much given up on ever having the "good old days" of racing ever again, unless I move to some other place. (not likely). Seems like there are pockets where racing can be strong.... (i.e. socal).... it just isn't here.

NO true diehard HOBBIESTs own them, i guess any more.Ones that do own just in it for the money.But what they dont understand is no track set up less customers.Get the competitive spirit going in a few guys then bamm ,constant racers.Don

Just getting back into the Hobby, I was very happy to see Ho B Max at Northgate mall in Durham open, but hate that the slot car track they just got in is so huge and along with the carpet track leave nothing for offroad or INDOOR offroad racing!

GET enuff offroaders theyll make carpeted ramps to put where ever and change it around often.They are flexible i talked their ears off other day. DON

I think there was some miss understanding. I race there every week and we have been told anything of this. I do know that some of the pits were closed in to make room for a small engine repair shop.

I talked with the owner while buying up some parts he had i needed on way see my kids.So it was straight from the horses mouth. don

Talked to Mitch last night. He is the guy going in with Glenn on the small engine shop. Glenn is not closing the track. He has already closed the hobby shop part. The only things he will carry is our oval stuff.
