So who else felt it?? Went on for like a strong 40 seconds here in monterey park, ca at 9:10pm.. centered in la habra.. sounds like it is a 5.1..

I wsa in the middle of tokyo for the big one....now that was something to write home about

Well nothing big this time.. i still remember the last two big ones in la.. 87 whittier and 94 northridge.. I wasn't born yet for the 71 sylmar quake.. that one cracked the pool at the house my dad owns now.. actually that house used to be owned by the cartoonist from hustler magazine (a porno mag if you don't know it) and had a huge naked girl drawn on the bottom.. helicopters used to fly over to see it.. unfortunately he painted it over when my dad bought the house in 82..

These are nothing compared to the 9.0 in japan.. weird thing is that we haven't had anything notable for almost 2 or 3 years and we get 2 +4's in less than a month.. go figure..

I knew exactly when it happened, because all my friends in LA all posted on Facebook at exactly the same time.

What scares me is that they say we're "due" for an 8 or 9 off the Oregon coast... which would cause a tsunami not unlike Japan's, and still be a 7 or 8 here in Portland.

Ahh facebook.. the post earthquake detection system.. lol

I have been hearing that the "big one" is coming since I was a little kid.. I think they do that to try to keep us prepared for when it does happen.. just no real way of knowing yet.. the guys at cal tech are working on their early detection system.. sounds like they got good results recently with these two recent quakes..

What is snow?? We get sunshine and a little rain.. 76-degrees here right now.. sitting outside on my tablet, feeling a nice breeze, drinking a cold beer, reading.. earthquakes?? Eh.. I will take this over twisters and blizzards any day..
