Tamiya SRB Re Release vs Original rear Bumpers

I picked up a re release rear bumper for an original car. I wasn't aware that the re release was longer. I am ready to slot the bottom holes to make it work. What have others experienced and what were your solutions for making them work?

I remember talk of this on Tamiyaclub. I haven't compared them myself so I don't know for sure

I really don't know much about them myself - and I think mine is mostly a re-release so can't help you.

If my memory isn't playing games with me, the first batch of re-re Sand Scorchers came with a rear bumper/cage that didn't fit, and Tamiya exchanged them for new ones for free.
(Or maybe it was the first batch of Buggy Champs that came with faulty ones....)
