I have never been into on-road/carpet racers, but when i bought a never run RC10CE I got an RC12L in parts as a bonus. I put it aside an thougt well I'll try to restore it some day. Well that day has come.
Here is the result.

that car brings back so many memories....one bad one but the rest are all good.

The good ones are all the fun i had running this little car everywhere and anywhere....rain or shine (receiver and ESC were protected)

The bad one was what i ran over when the car was too far to see.

Picking up this old thread from page six and 2014..
Decided to throw on some Novak electronics I had lying in the drawer.
If my memory serves me right the RC12L was introduced in 1984 and the T-4 in 1988.. So what motors are applicable to this era?

I don't know what motor is appropriate, but I'd say that it deserves a Reedy motor. Putting anything else in it would be blasphemy.

Wow... Introduced in 1984? I came late to the party cause I got mine in 91 or 92....I remember dropping a stock 27 turn motor...I believe it was a Joel Johnson. It was fast because I was running a matched sanyo nicad red 6 cell saddle pack. I loved that little car

As an Associated fan, I agree completely.

The car looks like it is just out of the box. Fiberglass looks excellent. Job well done.

I think, and it was a long time ago... but I think they ran 4 cell SCE and modified motors at the track I grew up on and a Black Magic was the motor to have. I'm not sure which one though. The Dominators ran 7 cell mod and the 12Ls turned just a couple laps less in 4 minutes. It was a small track too. I didn't race that class (couldn't afford to) so it's a little foggy. Those little things blistered that track! So cool! I forgot how small they were until my cousins restored the one recently. Too cool!

A Race Prep motor may also be a nice choice against the white and orange you have now. I shouldn't have been looking at this. Now I have an itching for one myself. And not the usual itch I get that requires a special shampoo from the pharmacist.
