New RC10T2 Runner / shelfer maybe

Thanks to my brother I now have this #7036 RC10T2. It's new and unrun with only a few lite blemishes from sitting on a shelf for years. The only thing missing is the manual but I can download a copy from AE's website. Diff is super smooth and shows no sings of oxidation. The hinge pins look nicer than the ones on my new B5m. The shocks are leaky but we know that's bound to happen. Tire are not glued on and feel new. Now I need to decide if it's to become a runner or a shelf queen.

I'd shelf it. Like new T2's aren't easy to come by and new ones with a box are even harder to find.

Nice find! I think I'd shelf that one too, there's a few well used T2's on the bay if you really are itching to run a T2.

I agree, this truck would be good for the shelf. It would be cool to replicate a team drivers car though if you wanted a project. period correct motor, esc, batteries, etc. I think Vale did a Pavidis replica if my memory serves me correctly. Scr8p could point you in the right direction if there's anything in the scans forum.

What turnbuckles would you guys run on the T2? I have a set of AE titanium and a set of Lunsford Punisher series. Can't decide.

Stock steel for a shelfer or lundsford for a more racey aftermarket look

So I decided to re-build it as if I'm going to race it. I'm looking to aquire a second chassis and transmission to build a second truck. I have enough spare parts now to build a second truck minus the main chassis and started to collect spares to cover a runner in case I needs some key parts. Once I aquire the second chassis I will swap out the new chassis for the used and shelf the second truck. Most of the parts I have aquired are new in or out of package and those that aren't are in great used shape.

I rebuilt the transmission with a new B4 top shaft and V2 slipper. Added aluminum screws and titanium in higher stress areas.

Very nice truck. I am suprised people buy these trucks and never run them. even when they were new they were expensive. not a model car.

Tell me about it. My brother messages back and forth with the previous owner while trying to buy it. Turns out just after he assembled it some stuff came up (wouldn't be to specific) he put it away and just never got back to it. Years later he be out it on a shelf collecting dust while he ran his newer generation cars. I'm sure that's how many now vintage cars ended up unused.
