UPS delivered this last week...I'm new to RC, so I'd love to hear all about Race Prep and their gear.

It can be plugged in for AC. It has clips for DC. And you can plug in a volt meter to see the battery's voltage. Seems to be working great. If it would be useful, I'll take pics of the instructions and post them in the paper archive.

that is a really old charger, and if you plan on using it, make sure you charge nicad batteries only.

Is that because a timed charger is more likely to overcharge, and NiCads are less sensitive to overcharge?

Yep, I know. It's neat, but it is what it is, a dumb charger. Just wanted to share pics of the stuff I fell into. It's a time capsule from the 80s.

85Edinger, yes, it just runs from the timer. It doesn't monitor battery voltage, so as long as you have the timer running, it's charging. It will overcharge anything if you let it.

got a couple of old chargers like that. just collecting dust and taking up shelf space. They a more of an antiquity and do more damage than good usually.
