Interesting brushless thought?

Since most sensored systems only spin one way and most competition ESC's don't allow you to change motor rotation - what would happen if you swapped A and C and wired the sensor cable backwards?

I assume the timing would be backwards/retarded and hurt performance.

Has anyone tried this?

If you swap A and C the motor will run backwards. It works OK with sensorless but I haven't tried it with a sensored setup.

If the motor timing is set to zero and the A and C sensor wires in the sensor lead are swapped over, then the motor will run backwards the same way it would run forwards. The only problem is that not all motors will give you true zero timing, and if you reverse the wiring just like with brushed you would have less power and higher current draw unless you put lots of timing on the ESC to compensate.
