I'm new to the Tamiya Scorpion, so hoping someone here can assist with a couple of questions. Ive recently built a re-release and really like the kit. Below are my questions/areas needing advice.

1) can anyone identify a source and part number for the driver/passenger figures shown below?
2) metal gear cover info/options - really bummed i missed out on the rogue element design:(
3) body masking/painting tips
4) how to mount sun roof so its open?
5) other must have mods?

Im planning on installing the rogue elements dash.

Thanks Limestang

You can cut up a Tamiya rally car interior to fit the scorcher body. Probably the easiest way.

As far as the proped open sunroof, I simply used plastic weld like Ambrold or Plastruct and held the sunroof in position till the plastic weld cured. Hasn't moved since I fixed its position years ago...

That's the body from the TamiyaClub community scorcher, the interior is a special made by Scollins (who happens to also be a member here) check out the links I posted above for the story.

I can concur with Synergy, that is a scollins interior. I bought one way back in '07 and of course it's just sitting in a box for the right time to do up a scorcher body.

Absolute must haves are an aluminum chassis to replace the flexible stock FRP chassis. a flexy chassis will alow the body to break at its front body mount in hard hits or slight jumps.

Coil over's for the damper. Lets face it, the dampers are just ornaments but they work smoother with coil overs and you can get rid of the incredibly stiff springs.

I tried doin my brat window trim with paint(f'd it up)....probably need a steady hand and a real small brush
a non-flex chassis is a good upgrade too....

I used model airplane hinge's on my sun roof, so it opens and closes when ever I want.

Any recommendations on an aftermarket chassis? I like the Awesome Alloy's version, but so far no response to my email.

Thanks, Mark

GomachV makes a nice frp chassis, if you like the CRP Butterfly style.

Awesome Alloys shut down years ago, it was set up to fill in the quiet times of Rads main business, but he stopped making r/c parts when work got too busy to continue with both.
Alternatives are the Pargu chassis which is a straight copy of the standard chassis in alloy, or the RadshapeRC ones in either standard length or with gearbox underguard, in black or silver anodised, or polished.
