Ball Cup Woes

I just finished a weekend vintage race with my RC10. I was not able to finish a 5 minute race or qualifier without popping the ball cup on the steering link. I started out Saturday with jconcept ball cups on Lunsford 3mm titanium turnbuckles. I changed to rpm ball cups on the Lunsford 3mm turnbuckles on Sunday and the ball cup still popped off. Do any of you have suggestions for something that works better? (It might take a while for my driving to improve to the point I don’t hit things to pop the ball cups) As most you are aware it is pretty crowded; with camber links and bell cranks and steering in the front of an RC10…so any more sturdy idea would be welcome.

you can use these bad boys in locations where the ball cup tends to pop off:

use a nut or washer on the outside so even if the ball pops off, the link is retained. These were very common back in the days of the short arm cars.

also keep in mind ball studs do wear, so if you have new cups popping off try changing the studs.
i run the small re-release white cups on my racer with no issues, the studs are also new.

slow is fast, so slow it down to avoid the pipes/walls. it may seem slow, but it's faster then going fast and crashing.
