LRP Spin Super Brushless ESC Issues

Hey all!

I just installed this ESC, in my recently build RC10WC, coupled with a reedy 17.5T mach2 540 motor and I have the following 2 issues which I am hoping someone could help answer for me:

1. The forward and reverse were reversed. Any way of correcting this?

2. The ESC is LOUD when in use. It makes a loud squeaking/high pitched humming noise. Is this normal? Do firmware updates fix this?

Thank you in advance!

Usually you resolve forward & reverse issues by switching two of the 3 wires connecting to the motor (assuming the motor is brushless)...switching any two wires reverses the motor rotation. See if that fixes the problem before troubleshooting the ESC.

Is the high-pitched whine coming from the fan? If so, you can replace it. I have a Bullistorm 60A ESC installed in my "Barney" Optima and it had an el-cheapo crappy fan installed. Not only was it noisy, but the blades actually were warped and making contact with the heatsink beneath. I removed it and installed a decent Novak fan I got at the local hobby store.

Thank you so much for the response!

I reversed it from the Radio's settings (4PLS), so I'm glad that I didn't do anything wrong. :)

Regarding the noise the ESC makes, it doesn't have a fan on it. It's more of a "processing" noise that it makes when the car is in fear (going forward or in reverse).

Just wondering if this is normal. I also have an LRP Team FlowWorks ESC and that sucker is quiet when driving - albeit it's a more expensive ESC.

Can anyone else shed some light on the screeching loudness noise when the car is in motion?
