G'day!

Hey all, just thought I'd pop in here and give you a bit of a low-down on me.

I've always had a soft-spot for the RC10, it was in all the modelling magazines when I was kid, and of course it had the best racing pedigree.

At the time all I could afford were beat-up Tamiya models from other people, but the desire for an RC10 never left me.

Fast forward to the present day, twenty something years on, and I've gotten back into on-road racing with a bunch of friends, and one turns up with a Tamyia Madcap.

Instantly I think 'He'll need someone to race, or I'll need someone to beat!'

I found that associated had done a re-release of the RC10 I was over the moon, but two years too late.

In any event I started looking around and managed to find an original on ebay.

I bought it!

So here it is, it's a B chassis, with bearings throuought, a few scratches on the underside, and a body colour that's not exaclty my taste.

It came with what appear to be the old kyosho Stinger rims for the rear and stockies for the front, painted less than ideally.

I've got a pile of stuff coming from AE (as the australian agent for AE is USELESS!) so I should be able to get it back to box art stock.

The rear tires look like Kyosho Rocky tires, while the fronts are Kyosho Raider tires. The car looks pretty good, and you can buy a fresh body and paint it any way you like. 8)

Coelacanth: thanks, that's exactly what I have done, new body, decal set and wing kit are coming from AE.

I hope to do the body as per the box art, as that's what got me in int the first place.

Now while we're discussing this, what's the general concensus: painted stripes or decal stripes?

If you can paint them, painting is always more pimp. Myself, i'm not a big fan of stickers, especially if you've gone to a lot of trouble to lay down a sweet paint scheme. Half of my cars have no stickers at all, but I know I don't represent the majority. :)

I'll see how I go, I'm no stranger to painting bodies, just not sure whether it'll be worth the trouble.

I'll have a think about it. :D
