YZ10?
I never had one, I've never even seen one in person but I always like them.
I'd love to get one someday but these seem to be getting very rare.
Anyone have any YZ10 info, links, history, etc?
What's with this whole "Dogfighter" thing anyway?

The yokomo yz10 and yokomo dogfighter are two different cars.
The dogfighter was the shiznit before the rc10 came out.
It has long trailing arms in the rear, chain drive to the front and a mono shock in the front.
When the rc10 came out it was beating the dogfighters even tho they were 4 wheel drive.
The dogfighter was distributed by ranch pit shop(losi)...they are very hard to come by in any shape.
these pics are of a pretty crappy one but that all i could find at the moment.

Thanks for the info (so far)
So the YZ10 and the Dogfighter are NOT the same car then? I never could figure out what was going on there.
I always liked the YZ because it looked like a 4wd version of the RC10 with it's aluminum chassis, white suspension pieces and Associated shocks. At least that's how I remember them. They had really cool wheels too although the mounting looked like it would be a pain.
Spiderman: That car looks like one of those burned out hulks we always see on the news in the middle east.

Wow, that's one primitive looking RC car there. Weren't there other versions of the Dogfighter? Wasn't there also a Super Dogfighter? I thought there were Dogfighters running up through the late-mid eighties. Then the YZ-10 came along in the later eighties. I didn't follow 4wd so closely, but that's what I thought happened. Wasn't the YZ-10 from around 88ish?
My favorite 80's 4wd was the Kyosho Optima Mid SE. The yellow one. Always wanted one. They're kind of pricey now though.

i have an older yz10. i bought it off ebay awhile back with intentions of restoring it before if got into the rc10 again.
i guess you could say they are cool, but after getting one and seeing it in person they really arent my thing. but maybe my opinion would change if i saw a real nice one instead of the beater i ended up with.

I was bumbed i didnt win that auction. or was it too broke to bid. I can't remember!
They may look primitive to you, but I see beuty! I love chain driven R/C's.
I have two Kyosho optimas, 1 aritro-craft dolphin, one aritro-craft wildebeest, and another kyosho chain driven thats pretty far gone!
Chain drivens are a thing of beuty!

I had an original Dogfighter (RPS) in about '87 or so, and I have always wanted one to restore now and have been looking for one for years. One just sold this past weekend for $560 and a NOS set of wheels went for $43 yesterday, so I don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon.
The original Yokomo Dogfighter, also known as the YZ-834B, was imported by RPS (Losi) and then the second generation Dogfighter was also known as the YZ10 in this country. It wasn't an Associated car, per se, but the team guys that ran 4wd used them (Lett, Masami, Halsey, et al). I have photos of Masami's Wold Championship car somewhere here that I'll scan.
The chassis known as the Dogfighter was produced in some form all the way up through like 2004 or 2005 known as the MR-4BC. I think it was loosely based on the shaft drive touring car.
