just made sure the chassy was strait .. it wasnt but is now :)

i thought the bottom was crappy looking and would replace the chassy but want to make sure the truck will be good before i make a custom chassy for it .. so i just whent and polished it instead

Image

Image

its not a perfect polish but seeing its a runner .. good enough

at the shop i work at we have air powered die grinders and have come up with a good steps

Image

the chassy was scatched up so i cleaned it up with a red pad about 80 grit

Image

if you want a smooth polished finish then i do a wet sand with sanding disks on the die grinders ( it gets realy messy ) 180,320,400,600,800,1000 checking between to see if you can see and past scaches .. at this point you have to keep things clean because if some dust plows up and you polish you will scatch the finish and you have to step back in grit

at this point it will look realy good so i finish with a buffer pad and Autosol and it comes out perfect

worked on the truck alittle today .. got the gt5 motor mont but didnt realy care for the look so i got out a spair b4 motor plate and 2of the 3 bolts lined up .. just need to make some 7mm spacer for the back of the plate and open up the hole for the slipper

Image

i like the way it looks

Image

i also picked up parts to rebuild the diff but ended up witht he wrong diff rings

got the spacers for the motor plate cut today ( 7mm) as well as the center hole opened (1/2") up and the 3rd hole drilled and tapped

Image

Image

i can space the motor another 6mm to the right if i need to for weight ballance but with the battery on that side i might have to move it to the left .. time will tell

Are you going to use the stock GT slipper? That's my plan...
