I recently got back into the hobby after a guy at work gave me a mini T. Found an RC10T3 on eBay and got it too. It has a Novak rooster. The original Rooster. The specs I found says it will take a mild modified? Is that like 15t? It has an Epic 27t now. I don't wanna go brushless so please dont tell me I should. Thanks. Also didn't they make these in like 2002. And thats considered vintage?? My roommate in tech school had a new one.

I had an original rooster for a long time when I first got into the hobby. Pretty sure I was running a 17T modified with no problems. Of course that was on nicads so take that for what it is if you're planning on putting a high discharging lipo to it.

My buddy has the T3 Team kit with a 13t brushed motor and a nice old school Novak 100a speed control. Great truck, and surprisingly fast. It's way faster than my kid's Circuit with a 17.5 turn brushless.

I just got a couple venom nimh 3000s. I was unsure if it was ok to run lipos on that old rooster or not. After dealing with lipos on my helicopter I've found they take some getting used to with all they're special attention. I kinda wanted to mess with brushed motors because the old ones are getting cheap on eBay and it would be fun to see how fast I could get them to run. Plus nobody does that anymore so I'm in! Outdated and Different is my way. Kinda like getting this old one up and running. Finding outdated parts is half the fun. If I get a new one I will go brushless. Otherwise era correct I think.

Some pics when i got it and now. I added a 15T hpi motor today. I wondered how a motor that runs 15.99 would compare. Half the reason I got this was because I knew I had a 3pj with receiver and when I added batteries to it a code came up telling me it lost it's memory. So i got a cheapo Flysky GT3. Not bad. I ran all threee of these cars today and I'm sure the mini -t is the fastest. Which is impressive for just having an RX280 motor and a nimh 7.2. I got street tires in today from ebay and the front two were already glued and one backwards. Is there anyway to salvage a tire that's been glued?

Not sure if you have used brushless, but you are truly missing out on so much potential.

My 450 helicopter is brushless. Its speed control already burnt up so the next one will be a good one. Haven't used it on a car yet. I'll probably go brushless if one of these speed controls ever wear out.
