Vintage Style Wheels for 2.2 Tires

Hi Everyone!

I am working on restoring my old A-stamp RC-10, and I was kind of thinking of doing some racing. I know there are a few options out there to do 2.2 inch wheels and tires, but I was hoping I could get something a little more vintage-looking. The JC wheels don't do it for me, unfortunately, and the JConcepts stuff seems rather limited. I was hoping that someone out there made something similar to this, but in plastic or nylon.

Does anyone know of anything like what I want? Basically a 2.2 inch wheel set that looks vintage correct and that won't cost my first child's college tuition.

Thanks!

you are stuck with dish wheels or the jconcepts rulux, or the jcrc racing 5 spokes. What vintage style wheels are you looking for? The jelly bean style you have shown were never in 2.2 other than modern alloy from that seller. Most racers went to flat dish to keep dirt out and keep it lightweight so wheel style for rc-10's is basically boring.

the only other option you might have, but it requires some work, are the HPI super star wheels that are modified.

if you like this style:

you can get them front and rears and adapt them to rc10 axles using hpi adapters

HPI sells a front set that are bearing spacers to adapt from 11mm OD.

I'm not sure the offset is right for the rear wheels however. front are probably fine.

Ok, I really like those Traxxas wheels. I may have to experiment with them. Has anyone tired them?

they have been around for a long time. the fronts should fit no problem with the bearing spacers. the rear, the offset would need to be checked, but I think they are close. Now that I think about this, I'm not sure they are hex drive, they might be pin drive. in that case, a 3/16" axle would be better on the rear, or you need to modify them for a rc10 1/4" taper axle.

Those should be hex, the Traxxas dish went to pin drive

I designed a set of 2.2 jelly beans with plans of 3d printing them but they ended up being too expensive. Might do them anyway for the cool factor but need to save funds.

Ill make them available for purchase (shapeways) but need to verify sizing first...everything I have is old so Ive not taken measurements on modern wheels.
