Hi,

as described in the subject line this will be my upcoming first project.
Mark was allways one of my favorite drivers and also his paint scheme was outstanding.
Marks T2 is/are well presented here but I love the RC10T a bit more so it`s time to start this build.
Before I start I want to ask you if you have some more pictures/informations about Marks 10T he drove at the 1994 Florida Winter Champs. I have the 1994 RCCA where his car is pictured and the 1995 RCCA with setup and electronic informations.
I know it will become hard but let`s start it here because it`s the best source :D

Thank you very much

Raimund

This is a nice choice to build. Not sure why you circled sections of the truck in red. I assume you are looking for those decals.

The TUF Racing decal is from dirtbikes back in the day, TUF made parts and were a factory team. I think they are UFO now? The other decal should be easy to find. The Oakley decal looks like the same one on the rere worlds car.

that's a great choice raimund. pavidis built some awesome trucks and buggies with great attention to detail.

i took these pictures quickly, but i hope they could help you out. if you see something and you want a better picture, let me know. i could scan it for you. you could also download the pdf for the magazine.

these pictures are from the june 1994 of rc car action. he has the truck fully naked and detailed.

you should also tell everyone what decals you have already for this project. that way everyone could see if they have the ones you need.

Look forward to watching this build. I think the "Team Associated" on the hood may be hard to find if you haven't found it. I don't think I've seen a thin font like that before.

Wow,

I didn`t expect that much feedback for this build! Nice to see that you like my choice for my first build.

Thank you very much Rod for the informations about TUF Racing and the Oakley decal. To find the TUF decal will become a real challange. The Oakley is now fixed with your Information. I didn`t notice that it is included in the rere Worlds decal sheet. Great start
You`re correct with the assumption about the circles around the decals. These are the decals I`m looking for, which are still missing. Now I have to add the Team Associated decals mentioned by romulus22. Thank you very much at this point to you romulus22 for this Information!

Also a big thanks to you littleVETTE for your scans and informations. When I choose this projekt I didn`t notice some special details on Marks car. Now with your larger scans I saw his drilled towers and his steering setup. Drilling the towers the correct way will not be easy because some details are missing. I think I have to make a CAD-drawing to see which will come nearest to his towers. This will be a decision for the Forum :?: The thickness of the rear tower is also impressive. Do you think he used some thicker material than normally used for the standard black tower?
Could it be that Mark used a GT steering setup? The servo saver is mounted on the right side instead of the left side.

I also think that it will be a interesting build and first pics will follow soon.

Thank you again to all of you
Raimund

Hard to see but interesting towers on this truck. Things like this I never noticed when I was young.

it almost looks like he doubled up the rear shock tower with two. they remind me of those thick shock towers for the rc10 from trinity or parma.

raimund you're correct about the gt steering. it also looks like he cut down three 8/32 chassis screws to mount the nose plate to the chassis.

This one is too big, and it's multi-color. But if you want to do some Photoshop work, this should be a good start. If you want a scan, send me a PM.

What a wonderful start for this thread! Seems that I`ve chosen the right car to bring back some more wonderful memories.
You`re all of great help.

A cordially welcome to the famous "Bad Brad Reelfs" who had a very good 93 in my opinion. Pictures tells more than 1000 words
It is a honor to welcome you at my thread and thank you very much for your help with the TUF Racing decal. PM is on the way in a few minutes.

Dear romulus22, I had the same "aha" feeling as you! I own the RCCA magazine for years but never experienced this detail.

@littleVETTE: Thank you confirming that it is a GT steering. I think I have a complete black setup at home. I`ve also noticed the three screws which he used for the nose plate.

I`ve done some more research and here is a scan from the RCCA 09.94. Plenty informations about Marks car are included but at least one is wrong because he didn`t use a Novak NER-2x receiver. He used a NER-3FM receiver because the crystal is at the top of the receiver. At first I was extremely happy because I`ve a brand new NER-2x but after a closer look I noticed that it was a wrong information. So back to start for a Novak NER-3FM receiver in 75 Mhz. I have also a HPc-410 which I`ve bought some time ago but now noticed that it has no switch and FET wire. Did Novak deliver the HPc also in such a configuration? Motor and servo is fixed.

I`ve also a question about the front tower. Do you think it is the later version with 3 shock mounting holes or the earlier version with only two holes?

Start to put together parts that I`ve in stock.

More updates soon
Raimund

I think it would be the 3 hole tower, as the two hole type is thinner.
