The Tamiyaclub Community Scorcher wasn't just a body. Many, many TC members donated parts to the car to build the chassis and suspension, then Pleiku68 plated the metal parts in rhodium and gold. The project took 4 years from the first parts being donated to Chris travelling to Shizuoka to present it to Tamiya. Of course 2003 was long before rerelease parts so all the new parts were all rare originals.
Here it is at Tamiyas reception with Kenichi Oshiro
dan, only one was ever built, but Rad modified and painted two bodies in case he made a mistake, meaning he was left with a spare body when he was finished. he then built his own car based on the Community Scorcher.
