Not unexpected, for sure...it pretty much shares the same chassis as the Scorpion/Beetle so why not re-re the Tomahawk-specific wheels and body? Looks good, I like the added width and diff and slipper gear.

I have zero interest in reissues. But the non-Tamiya reissues have been useful for one thing: missing decals.

At least in the case of the RC10 and Kyosho Beetle, the reissue kit decal sheets helped provide some decals that were depicted on the box, but never included in the original kit. And that is welcome - it sure beats trying to custom create decals.

It looks like the Tomahawk reissue finally offers an easy way to have the "203" numbering in the box art font, on either side of the car. Those numbers were never included in the original kit at all, and (to my knowledge) cannot even be found (in the exact box art font) in any other kit, anywhere.

I was just in the process of working out exactly where all the decals came from. "203" was one of the big mysteries, so it'll be great if that now has an easy fix.

Of course the reissue Tomahawk looks to be missing loads of the other original box art decals, but hey. Still one step closer to exact box art when building an original Tomahawk.

Actually on closer inspection, I reckon "203" on the reissue is a bit different, and is a typeface they've used elsewhere before  The reissue lettering is skinnier than that seen on the original box art. So, probably still need to custom-create "203" to really match the original box art. EDIT - The original vintage "203" decals have now been found. See this thread.

The little white "Racing Buggy" on the nose looks correct though.

Also, regarding tyre lettering...
"That means you no longer have to tediously paint the white lettering on the sidewalls of the tires – now it’s done for you."

Those reissued chinese Goodyears often arrive with the lettering partly rubbed off, even in the box. Since it's just sprayed on (and there's no embossed edge to the letters), touching them up is harder (imho) than doing the original tyres (really easy with the right pen).

Based on this, if they re-re the Optima, I'm holding out for the inevitable Javelin. :D

Yep. Tomahawks came with a diff.

That'd be fine too... I was just thinking in terms of original release order, which would put the Javelin 2nd.
