i was lucky enough to get hooked up with one of these (thanks hoopty ). it's in real nice shape, all except for the ton of extra holes that were drilled into it, and the LR arm mount hole was ripped out. so, i got them all filled, and the arm mount hole fixed up. a quick coat of sealer, now it's ready to start.

i'm not totally sure what direction i want to go with this, but at least the hard part is done.

wow you sure are the master of reparing graphite chassis scr8p. i just cant believe they didn't counter sink the holes all the way, were all of the chassis like that? the hole you fixed is deeper than the stock holes, anyhow thats awesome regardless. when its done put it on a revolving pedistool with a spotlight on it!

Hey Jason, I think either you or someone else may have covered this before, but what did you use to fill the holes?

at the price those chassis's go for id be repairing to and being very happy with that....excellent job mate......flawless work

Excellent mate, woot! Have you thought about maybe painting little grey squares over the hole patches to make them look like CF weave? If you took your time and clour matched the paint I am sure it'd look near new. Either way great save at the moment.

THAT IS so cool iv never seen a carbon fiber tub chassis before that is so cool

you can get small carbon fiber tubes at Mcmaster carr if you want to make nose tubes to match.

actually, the problem is they used too big of a drill bit for the holes, and it makes look like they're not countersunk enough. that's why the hole i fixed looks different.

ya that was me. i use 3M Automix panel bonding adhesive. being as though i work in a body shop, it's readily accessable.

i did think about that, and i still could. unless i start building it before it would happen. i spent most of the day yesterday at my work (on my own time ) doing this chassis and 3 others. i just wanted to get them all done and go home.

The chassis looks grate, I'm glad you finely got your hands on one. But didn't I just read in one of the other treads that you where done building toy cars? HAHAHAHA LOL I love it ,your addicted and cant stop!

i said i was gonna finish all of my projects first, then i'm done. hopefully.

damn, i had to go back over a year to find this one.

i've been hoarding the last of my new white parts for this build. i still need a set of new white shock bushings, a new pair of white shock rod ends, and i seem to have lost one of my new white spring collars. i ran out of short ball studs, so i couldn't put the steering bellcrank in. i also need to get bearing for the whole car, too.

it might sit idle again for a little bit, but here it is so far................
