Congrats to AE and Spencer Rivkin! Another well fought battle for an IFMAR world title. We know Curtis and the Team was hard at work in the background! Some great racing to watch:

This type of track is the way of the future Brian! Hard to say it's off road though!
On a different note, Spencer is only 16

. How old was BK or Masami when they won I wonder?

You ain't kiddin' Rod! I was up all night the night before rebuilding shocks and balancing tires, but to see team take home the gold makes all the long hours worth it!

No pics yet but I think it's just a fully modded M with a special low profile 3 gear tranny.

don't know if its true, but I heard that it was a B44.3 rear ( including the centre diff) and a B5M front with a hybrid chassis, would love to see some pictures of it
doesn't look like they have done anything with the 4wd car judging by the qualifying results, the X Ray looks fast

Speculation is the tranny used was this one or similar design.

The Associated B5M Champions Editions would be a good kit to collect. Bummer it doesn't include the low profile transmission, but, being a limited release kit would be quite valuable in 30 years one would think.

What ever happened to 'The team does it in the dirt'....?
Now it's more like, 'The team does it on pool table baize cloth along with a few strategically placed ramps'.
I may be the exception but that's just boring to watch.

That B5m prototype car is pretty sick! They moved the CG way forward with that thing, and lower a bit while they were at it. I may need to design a trans case like that for my B1m, would be fun to mess with

Agreed. There's nothing "offroad" anymore with today's "offroad cars". They should create a new genre of racing: "Onturf".
