11/12/2015, the car is complete:






I'll update this as I build, but I've been waiting to build an XX for a while now. I have done both types of XXT's and it's time to do the XX. Finding a good candidate is key, and this is the one.

A solid purchase from an online forum.







And today's progress. Cleaned the gears and re-lubed the diff. Installed several new parts I had on hand and purchased. I think it is going to look great.

Teflon coated shocks (from a XXX-4 I have, not black anodized)
Rear bulkhead
Milled motor plate
Rear arms
Red springs
Transmission case
Hardware

Steering and new rear hubs in:

Also added an RPM steering link.

Lookin' good! I never seem to get bored of seeing Double-X rebuilds.....

Yeah, that looks great! Did you use fresh screws? If not, they cleaned up nice too.

Thanks! Yeah, I bought all the screws for my XX/XXT cars from boltdepot.com. They are same screws that come with the kits. Most are $0.02 each.

What plans for the body and wing?

Probably stock - original would be preferred... I don't have a body or decals yet for it and the decals will cost just as much as the car

I'd love to do an aftermarket XX body, but who knows if I'll ever find one.

Coming together nicely. I have lots of xx parts hanging around so ask me before you buy. Have fun!

Here's another update. New bulkhead, new arms, new knuckles. At this point, the only thing that's still original on the car will be the chassis & pivot plate, axles, hingepins, bumper, and shock towers Shocks are even new from left over parts I've had in other lot purchases.

I bought that body!

Looking forward to seeing it painted up and fitted.......

Body came much faster than I thought.... And I got decals thanks to a member on here Car is almost ready to go!

Here's the paint theme for my buggy. Going to match my XXT. There may not be any black in it though.
