OK, so everyone's all queer about box-art 6010 (Edinger gold tub buggy) parts... clear gear covers, Delrin spring cups, G-10 battery straps, Kimbrough diamond wing mounts, (which I see Asa has for sale...) etc...

These have been my "holy grail" for a 7001 truck resto for a long time:

were those the box are tires... i dont' rmember it being the ones with the horizontal parts connecting them to the sidewalls. When i got the box art truck from AE it didn't hve tires on it anymore so i have no more proof then anyone else (just looking at the picture on the box).

Those are the box art tires. The manual shows them clearly (fig 152):

I guess I could just copy the image...:

So, how's the Lett race truck coming along?

And now I've found the smooth sidewall Proline 7090 rear tires as shown in the manual... :D

Sometimes it takes a while to gather all the bits for a project of this magnitude...I've also got the super early black chassis with only offset countersunk battery cup holes...talk about a find! And yes, I used a sharpie to fill in the scrapes in the rear...although this pic is from the auction. This truck will not be mint, but it will be a nice example of the earliest production 7001 truck. You can certainly call it a boxart replica. :P

I'm pretty motivated on this one now. :D :D :D

Are the rears with the smooth sidewall tapered pins or straight pins?

They're mini-pins! Actually, they're slightly tapered. Similar to the early Losi, pre IFMAR pin, tires. they match my labeled Pro-90 <RED> mini-pins.

Ya i love those rears. I picked up a couple pairs off ebay a while back... Its still so surprising to me how hard the rubber was back then. Need an insert? NOPE!

Sooooooooooooooooooo temple, what makes up a 7001 truck??? I have 5 different versions of the RC10t
including one that B stamp chassis that is only drilled for transverse batteries--so other than arm webbing, shock tower

Patience... Probably be in the Fall before I do anything, although all the parts are in my collection of stuff.

Too many other things going on this summer...

Those tires look like they still have that white crud on them like the kit tires. That stuff was all over my hands for the first 6 months I touched that truck.

Mold release agent, great stuff to get on your hands some 20 years later!
