Brushless motor turn suggestions

Hello to all:
I am getting back into the hobby after 25 year hiatus. I am giving my daughter a sc10 (brushed rtr) and I thought it would be great to go to the local track, short corse with many tight turns, and run my old Kokomo. After reading up on here and many forums, it is a 870c with a upper plate, RPM front diff housing, I do have a tcs installed along with the rc-10 spur conversion. I bought this car used back in 1988-1990, cant remember. I will post pics as soon as I get cleaning it I promise.
This leads me to my question: What advertised turn on a brushless motor would be good for this car? I am going to run lipo batteries, have the conversion plate on the bottom of the chassis. I have an Orion r10 ESC. From what I read 8.5t is for most 4wd, I am leaning toward this direction. I could de tune it a bit until my driving skills come back to form. I'm just not to sure, however. I would appreciate any suggestions and ideas you may have. The surface is a higher grip hard clay surface. Thanks for your help.
