I just received this Hot trick chassis from Canada, so I figured it would make for a nice shelfer.

However,

Notarex will sure notice that front brace... Thank to him for giving it to me with the Optima Beetle!!!

Really nice looking Hot Trick!

Can´t You just make the missing Hottrick parts out of red cardboard or plywood

That might not look to great, but if I can find red Epoxy, then I will look into doing it myself!

Nice looking Optima. The hot trick stuff actually makes these things look better. But please check out the rules about asking for parts in the open forums thank you.

I was thinking of buying that car as well...but I have too many projects already. Interesting how you mounted the battery spacers on the front shock towers. The platinums are just a hair too long. I have the same problem on my hot trick conversion.

I was kidding about the cardboard and plywood
I´m not a big fan of the hottrick parts for the optima, seen from a race perspective - But I´ll admit that it has a high bling factor.

Wouldn´t it be better if You mounted the shocks at the c hubs instead of using the hole for the stabiliser. The shock is very upright, yes - but far away from the wheel.

Think Dennis has a point on the shocks. Can't tell by the pix but thinkin that it would sit a lot more 'level' across the arms if the shocks weren't straight up and down. Otherwise, great lookin bling factor optima. I had most of the parts for one of these then sold the majority then a few others here and there before I had my first optima...one of my kyosho regrets

A full Hot Trick-equipped Optima looks good on the eyes, but I agree with DennisM...Hot Trick is more about form than function.

i am working on an HT Optima RAM runner. I have always liked this car and I have read and re-read the old
Project Optima article featuring it in RCCA. Great pics!

Update:

- Found the Hottrick radio plate!
- Adjusted the front shocks with longer ones.
- Added motor heatsink (Drastic)
- And a sweet looking Stand!
