RC10 World's Re-release Revert Project

Being one of the early adopters of the RC10 World's re-release, I was was extremely happy at the chance to purchase an RC10 again. I had been out of the hobby since I was 17 or 18 (now 31), so I decided to seize the opportunity and buy a this great car.

A lot of my cars are shelf cars and the intention with this car was to do the same. As I accumulated more cars over the last year, my RC10 got left behind.

Well, I decided to make this car a revert project. Essentially, replace all the items that have been changed with the redesign. Convert the car back to its original state.

I still have more work to do on the car, but here's some of my progress so far:

- Original RC10 transmission case, idler gear, top shaft, slipper assembly, and gear cover.
- Original RC10 shocks.
- Aluminum screws for the transmission and shock collars.
- Dyed re-release steering black.
- Reedy Mr. Motor
- Front 3-piece are on the way.
- Original machine screws.

To do and source:
- Rear hubs and bearings (if going with 1/4" axles)
- Source 3/16" CVD or 1/4" universal joints
- 1/4" rear rims
- ProLine XTR rear tires
- Electronics
- Paint body

Enjoy.

- Bearings

FOR STOCK HUBS AND RPM INNER 1/4" axles: http://www.avidrc.com/product/1/bearings/5/14-x-38-x-18-Flanged-Metal-FR168ZZ-bearings.html

- 3/16" CVD or 1/4" universal joints
U-joints..if your talking about the true steel u joint shafts that slip in and out and replace the bone...Good luck.
If you just need 1/4" CVD kits: http://miponline.com/cgi-bin/sc/ss_mb.cgi?storeid=*100a321d27069630eff7&ss_parm=A11353e59ae20d88c92c1a9b72da2692a

Looks good! You could also cut the ears of the rear bulkhead shorter to look like the original worlds also.

Do you have the correct front axles for the 3 piece wheels? The extended axles will work, but not be correct for the original.

No, I didn't know the axles were different. Assuming I kept the car as is, but with three piece wheels, would the fitment look off?

Yes the wheels will sit out further due to the difference in offset of the B4 wheels vs. the original offset.

Okay, better add the old axles to the list.

Edit: They are the same as the ones on my trucks, I may have a set around. Didn't reslize they new WC had the wide ones.

Thanks!!

Wheels are on.

Just need 1/4" rear wheels, the original rear tires (or something similar) and she should be ready for electronics and paint. I may take a stab at doing my own paint on this body, so we'll see.

Looks great! Those rear wheels pop up from time to time on the bay. Makes me wanna tear mine down and clean it up its dirty. You should add some aluminum screws in those front wheels.

If you want to go the extra little bit, when you take the rear bulkhead off to trim it, drill the proper worlds camber link holes too. They are not under the wing tubes as the rere would have you believe. Reference the original manual to see where they go

I installed aluminum screws in the front wheels... They are rather dark compared to the 1" ones from the place I got them from

Good notes on the ball stud location. Modifying the rear bulkhead will make for a good project.

Thanks, that helps a lot!

Did they all come with black rear hubs?
