Alaabama guy with a serious nostalgia problem

I joined a little while back but forgot to do an introduction.
I mainly browse to see the older RC's from the late 80's through mid 90's. That is when my interest began and when I followed the hobby the closest.
Never owned an Associated model but wanted one( a re-release gold pan is on my list of eventual purchases ).
I started with a Tamiya Blackfoot around 91 or 92. Great truck I unfortunately beat to death and subsequently lost the remaining parts over the years
. I recently picked up an old Blackfoot roller from an electronics junk shop( everything from car audio equipment, computer parts...etc ). Got it for $20.00 out the door and immediately disassembled and cleaned all of the parts. Ordered some replacement and upgrade parts( though it is going to remain simple and close to original ).
Still looking for a few things that seemed completely common a few weeks ago, but now seem MIA on ebay. Maybe the desired aluminum shock towers will post up again soon, as they are the last thing that I unfortunately procrastinated on ordering.
