I was recently in contact with Masaaki Hirosaka through email and this popped up in the conversation at some point and wanted to share it with you all. Here is his note about the prototype you can see below:

"There is a prototype that I made last in Yokomo for the World Championship race.

This prototype machine is a 4WD machine newly developed for 1/10 World Championship 2003 in Florida. It was then modified for improvement based on the tests during the warm-up race in 2003. However, due to the company situation, we could not participate in that World Championship.

I retired from Yokomo in 2004. Of course because this machine belonged to Yokomo, I could not bring it with me. So I replicated just one car while I remember. Although I made it as a memorial car not thinking about using it in a race, I prepared some spare parts. Because most of the parts were prototype parts newly designed, the manufacturing cost was very high. Actually at least US$5000 was spent. This is the last machine I made for Masami."

If you have 3 grands to spend, the car is for sale...
