i made a mid

got the itch to dig around and put a couple cars together. this is a mid mostly made from digging around parts boxes. definitely influenced by sonchos rig.

first time out to a small indoor track i couldnt get it to turn near as good as the other car i just built, but i think alot had to do with running too much caster and the shocks being way too soft. i rebuilt the shocks with 2 pistons all around and 35wt and put 25 degree blocks up front. hopefully it helps.

the body is a jconcepts devastator worlds. wicked cool looking and much much better than their other devastator body.

i forgot to mention that at the track running it i had wide axles up front with pre b4 wheels which had to have something to do with the less than ideal steering.

I like this, a lot, especially with that body. I tend to like stuff that is home-brewed like this.

The B6 release was bound to make GT e-buggy conversions the next WOIN craze around here. ;)

who came up with that anyway?... my god, 'whats old is new' sounds more like a old lady thrift store than a way to describe an old rc10 resto mod.

Is there a thread that shows how to do this conversion? You aren't using the stock tranny are you? I did notice that you can pull the top tranny hole cap, and swap the diff to the other side. Stock tranny looks symetrical, so I'd think it would be a straight forward process.

i just took the trans and rear bulkhead and turned them around 180, then drilled new holes in the chassis. toughest part is drilling the holes around all the others. a drill press and stealth template (or extra chassis) is all you need.

^...i also flipped the diff back so the allen head is on the right side of the buggy.

What is that rear bumper, I like it, and want one for my build. Thanks!

You make it sound easy, but as someone going through this conversion, I can tell you're leaving a LOT out, hehe.
