Traxxas Tires - Anyone used them

Greetings,

First post on this forum. I twas recommended for "vintage" rebuilds from RCten.com.

Currently as many rebuilding my 10T from about '93. Have many parts to rebuild back from various dealers. Looking at tires to put on. Many people I see using PROLINE tires but little about TRAXXAS Tires? Was looking for some mostly street and light gravel tires.

Looking at the following: 2478: Anaconda 2.2" Tires (rear) https://traxxas.com/products/parts/2478

I would appreciate any feedback.

let's be clear. For bashing, especially in the street, ANY tire works. Pick the cheapest or whatever is available to you.

For racing, tires are key. Not just the brand, but the pattern, the compound, the insert. Performance depends on the tire.

Where it becomes funny is when people use racing tires for bashing - total waste of money, win on sunday, sell on monday.

To conclude: For bashing, buy whatever tire makes you feel good. An x-pattern-like such as the anaconda certainly looks like a decent choice. In typical traxxas-from-the-21st-century fashion, I suspect they are hugely overpriced though!

Hello and welcome.

Traxxas Anaconda tires are too hard of a compound in my opinion, plus they have a more rounded profile.

Personally I like the Proline Road Hawgs for asphalt/light dirt. I find they work the best.

I use the Proline Speed Hawgs quite a bit but the grip isn't as good as Road Hawgs, forget about any dirt with them though.

The Proline Speed Hawgs were my Proline Choice. Just had never seen any discussion on Traxxas Tires. Be advised I am 15+years out of the hobby.

Rebuilding this thing is a bit of a road down memory lane. Just that college has washed some of those memories away. DAMN YOU ALCOHOL!!! haha.

The anacondas will work fine for straight line runs and do decent on the turns but like mentioned above I have had better luck with the prolines. Personally I like a tire I can 'break loose' and make a little noise with and the anacondas will work good for that. They aren't a terrible price but you can get cheaper on ebay and discount hobby shops. Buytraxxas.com isn't bad to work with but for the price I'd still go with the prolines personally. Just for fun these anacondas like to shred at high speeds so depending on what you are gonna run for power you might wanna think that through also...

good luck and welcome to the board

Thanks klavy. Much appreciated. I think I'm just going to have to experiment. Hopefully I can get most of this built and running before the weather turns to crap.

Please keep in mind, the Anaconda tires you linked to are for a buggy...not a truck!
