CVA options

I have been looking into available options for CVA's for my RC10T. I would like to run newer wheels on this one. If anyone has any opinions or suggestions, I would be interested in hearing them, thanks.

I would love to know the same thing. I been looking for this answer myself from what I found is you use the axle setup from the rc10gt? I thought they use the same wheel style but I remember reading a post on using those. Obv I'm not certain or I would have done it. Hopefully someone chimes in

There are two rear axle styles- the 1/4" for the bushing rigs (and the original team truck) and the 3/16 axles used in the team trucks up thru the T2. The 3/16 is what you want for running more modern style wheels. Im not sure how far in the timeline this takes you as I only own T2 era and older. All you need to do is buy the proper bearings and wheels to match.

Both are discontinued but worth searching for

MIP 1082 3/16 CVD set
MIP 1008 1/4" CVD set

Associated 7383 3/16 CVD kit (same as MIP 1082)

I assume you can use mip1082 with 7367 rear hub and bearings for an rc10gt and for the front use the worlds car conversion 6801?

Yes with the rear you would use 3/16 x 3/8 bearings with no flange.

Not sure how the extended front axles would work with offsets and such, I'll let others answer that

Yeah that's what the update does, makes the newer offset wheels work (for a buggy) just not sure about truck offsets

From memory just the standard inline aluminium axles are the go.. I use the T4/GT2 wheels front an rear

Been trying to follow this thread. Like the OP I am dusting off my old RC10T and want to install CVD's. 1/4" and 3/16" units are no longer available. I see that Associated now sells CVD setups for the Re-re Classic and Worlds Car. Would either of those kits work buy replacing the driveshaft with a T3 drive shaft? If not, what other options do I have?

I installed SC10 associated CVD's in my RC10T. They were recommended to me by the service rep at associated being I couldn't find the MIP CVD's mentioned above anywhere. They have been helpful to me over there at Associated. Worth giving a call if you have any questions.

Wow thanks for the suggestion. Were they a direct fit?

Not exactly. I had to get rear hubs that took 3/16 bearings. I will look for the purchase order and get back to you. I also added the hex conversion to run modern wheels.

Upon looking a little deeper the SC10 and T4 share the same part number for the CVD kit. It's already been established that the T4's are about 1/8" too long.

iirc T3 was a CVD. the worlds car runs Associated CVA. the cup sustym wher the universal section is is reveresd
