I got these recently from eBay and were listed as Schumacher. They are obviously not Schumacher and designed for the RC10. I had never seen these before though, can someone shime some light on the manufacturer? They look really cool and I'm thinking of using them on my A&L trailing arm chassis conversion.

I also thought they were Raborn but upon closer inspection they are slightly different from the ones I have on my BBT sprint car:



The Raborn are grayish, have steel axles and the plastic molding is a bit different too. These have alloy/stainless steel axles and the plastic is pitch black.

They may be Bullet Racing Sliders.

what does the spline look like? Fredswain could weigh in with some more info I bet. But I would say it's either vendor mentioned. Likely from the same source.

Here you go, basically three splines, one being thinner than the others for proper sliding/alignment.

Could they in fact be Schumacher. There was a engineer in the UK whom made a 4wd Rc10 using the Schumacher CAT transmission. It was covered by one of the UK magazines at the time, probably 1987.

I never saw the whole car in person but I did see the rear transmission and the milled nose plate. It did seem very well made. Althou he did'nt sell many.

They can't be Schumacher, they're too well finished to be a made in UK product More seriously, the Schumacher sliders had a four spline and not three. On top, I don't think they ever made any hop-up for the RC10 or any other car besides maybe the visco drive unit.

Mine out the package same as this the later version was all gray.Made to be a bit lighter with all gray.DON

They made an active castor front end kit for the rc10 and the losi xx. Still hunting for the rc10 version.

I vaguely remember these now. Weren't they standard on the Cougar 2000? Would love to see a picture of the Rc10 version.

Edit: it was called the Schumacher Active Caster System (SACS) and it looks like the reference for the RC10 is U1617.

Now to cut a long story short, I guess the sliders above were indeed made by Raborn/Bullet and that they made two versions: one with gray sliders and steel axles and another one with black sliders and stainless steel axles. I'm not sure which version came first though? They will definitely go on my A&L chassis conversion.

Those are Raborn. The sliders had been made in gray and black depending on the production run. The adapters that go into the outdrives were machined in the gray production runs and then later were injection molded in black. The axles were machined by a guy in Houston who is sadly no longer with us. They were heat treated but I forget to what Rockwell hardness. They are crazy strong. If you find any sliders in gray that have 4 ribs, they were just Losi pieces.

BUT TO USE losi slider shafts haft to drill out the pivot holes or will bind up on you.DON
