not been on for a while amongst other things ive been building this

IMAG0135a.jpg
its obviously a work in progress i just got the driveshafts cut down, alloy sleves epoxied on and bolted into tamiya uj's and went to fit a set of std dt02 buggy rear wheels (from the beach buggy kit) and found the offset was wrong and the tyres rub on the kyosho skorpion (2014) rear arms anyone know of wheels that will fit other than the skorpion originals?i would ideally like something that takes the modern std tyres.
unlike most of you guys my knowledge of rc cars is pretty ltd just rebuilt a couple of std cars before now so any help greatly appreciated

with a hex, I'm pretty sure the HPI super stars would fit on there, they have a neutral offset I think.

thanks ,they look like they might but i cant be sure as they dont actually have the meusurment i need stated .my current wheels that dont fit are around 30m.m from the rear face of the wheel that sits against the hex to the inside edge of the wheel that hits the swingarm,im looking for something in a 2.2 that has a more noticeable dish (like the original srb wheels)where the spokes are more in the centre of the rim

like I said, those HPI wheels I believe are neutral. there is no offset from center, or very little. the wheel is 35mm wide, so it's got a negative depth of 17.5 from hex face to inner lip.

I can verify when I get home.

thanks jwscab, the measurment would be great if you could. the photos in the link you posted make the wheel look like the hex is toward the outside face

Are the stub axles re re Scorpion? If so it might be worth a look at Kyosho's new hex adaptors for the Scorpion. Part number SCW020. They're designed to fit modern 2.2 inch 12mm hex wheels onto the Scorpion, Tomahawk and Beetle.

You might be able to use the DT02 wheels with them.

Ofna CRT.5 wheels will work. Here's one on my SRB with Scorpion semi trailing arms. They are 2.2 inch diameter and 35mm wide. There's a fair bit of stub axle left sticking out. Spacers to take up the gap would be easy to make.

Here's how much the tyre clears the arm by.

thanks 1300gt plenty of clearance on those, thinking about it i will probably go for the adapters you mention as thats probably cheaper than buying new wheels and tyres and will give more options down the line, how did you hook the kyosho stubs to your srb box ? im not 100% my approach will work

The dogbones are re re Scorpion and the output driveshaft cups are from RC Channel on Ebay. They're listed as "general drive shaft cups".

I had to remove each end of the diffs output shafts as they were protruding into their respective cups and stopping the dogbones from sliding into the cups upon suspension compression.

It's easily accomplished with a Dremel. From memory it's about 2mm off each side.

Ford for a drive shaft I would recommend running a straight dog bone and eliminate the universal. Outdrive cups from Kyosho show Ultima or optima are 5mm can fit on a cut down main gear shaft. Then find an appropriate length dog bone

ive ordered the kyosho hex adapters now so hopefully i will get them sometime soon and i can try it out then,if my cut down kyosho dogbones sleeved to fit the tamiya ujs dont work ill try your method as its probably better but as ive allready cut down a set of brand new dogbones ill give these a go
